Ecclesiastical Parish created in 1755 from Bromsgrove Ancient Parish, and refounded in 1853 from Kings Norton Ecclesiastical Parish & Alvechurch Ancient Parish (both Worcestershire) & Solihull Ancient Parish (Warwickshire). Civil Parish created in 1911 from part of the part of Kings Norton Civil Parish not transferred to Birmingham County Borough (associated with Warwickshire) & Ancient Parish.[25]

1½ miles north of Jumction 3 on the M42 motorway

Hollywood is 2 miles north from Wythall and Headley Heath is 1½ miles N.W. Silver Street, 1 mile north; Kingswood, 2½ miles north; Inkford, ¾ mile south; Tanner's Green, ¾ mile east are scattered hamlets. [57]

Parish Church

St.Mary
The church was declared redundant on 28 October 1992 and sold for office use. [80] Services are held at the Coppice Primary School, Shawhurst Lane.

An extract from the Topographical Dictionary of England 1831 by Samuel Lewis:

WYTHALL, a chapelry in the parish of KING'S NORTON, upper division of the hundred of HALFSHIRE, county of WORCESTER, 8 miles (N. E. by E.) from Bromsgrove. The population is returned with the parish. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Worcester, endowed with £800 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Vicar of Bromsgrove. The chapel is dedicated to St. Mary.
