Descriptive Notes
St Lawrence’s Church with its tower and modest spire, forms part of a spectacular architectural group with the parish church of All Saints’ and the great Perpendicular bell tower of the Abbey. The church is of Norman foundation, though it now appears entirely Perpendicular , having been rebuilt in the 16th century; it fell into ruin in the 18th century and underwent a major restoration by the local architect H Eginton in 1836. Outside, the east end is very fine with a great six-light window with elaborate tracery. Inside, the early 16th century chantry chapel of St Clement has richly panelled arches and beautiful fan vaulting. The windows contain good glass by many of the major stained glass artists of the last 150 years.[40]
Status
Originally a chapel to Evesham Abbey. A separate civil identity early. Abolished civilly in 1924 to help create Evesham Civil Parish. Forms single Ecclesiastical Parish with chapel All Saints as Evesham All Saints with St Lawrence [25]

A free-to-view site is being developed at freecen.org.uk for the 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871 and 1891 censuses. Coverage of Worcestershire parishes is rather sparse at this time.
