Worcester St Michael Bedwardine

Ancient Parish [25]
Included Bishop's Palace & Cathedral churchyard (a peculiar in the jurisdiction of the Dean & Chapter of Worcester), the greater part of the latter being transferred ecclesiastically in 1910 to Worcester St. Helen Ancient Parish. Abolished civilly in 1898 to help create Worcester Civil Parish.[25]

The original medieval church was established in the N.E. corner of the close as a cemetery chapel to the Cathedral. A new St.Michael's was built in 1839 in College Street, the original church being demolished in 1843. Its existence is now marked only by the ledgerstones near the war memorial. New St.Michael's was demolished in 1965.
