Originally a chapel in Pershore Holy Cross, which itself was a part of Pershore Abbey but a separate parish at the Dissolution. Upton Snodsbury was a separate parish by 1535.[25]

An extract from the Topographical Dictionary of England 1831 by Samuel Lewis: UPTON-SNODSBURY, a parish in the upper division of the hundred of PERSHORE, county of WORCESTER, 6½ miles (E. by S.) from Worcester, containing 291 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Worcester, rated in the king's books at £8, and in the patronage of the Rev. Henry Green. The church is dedicated to St. Kenelme.
