PIRTON, a parish in the upper division of the
hundred of PERSHORE, county of WORCESTER, 4 ½ miles (N. N.
W.) from Pershore,
containing 214 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, united to that of
Croom-D'Abitot, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Worcester, rated in
the
king's books at £8. 3, and in the patronage of the Earl of
Coventry. The church
is dedicated to St. Peter. [Topographical Dictionary of

Ancient Parish [25]
Abolished ecclesiastically in 1771 to help create Croome d'Abitot with Pirton Ecclesiastical Parish. By the 20th century was called 'Croome d'Abitot'. Ecclesiastically abolished in 1973 to help create Severn Stoke with Croome d'Abitot Ecclesiastical Parish.[25]
