OVERBURY, a parish in the middle division of the
hundred of OSWALDSLOW, county of WORCESTER, 5½ miles (N. E.
by E.) from
Tewkesbury, containing, with the chapelries of Alstone, Teddington, and
Little
Washbourn, and the hamlet of Conderton, 764 inhabitants. The living is
a
discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Worcester,
rated in the
king's books at £ 9. 10 and in the
patronage of the Dean and Chapter of Worcester. The church is dedicated
to St.
Faith. Here are some malt-kilns and a paper-mill. [Topographical

A chapel at Berrow. A peculiar under jurisdiction of Dean & Chapter of Worcester. It was a separate parish by 1535.
The hamlet of Washbourne (transferred to Gloucestershire in 1844 for civil purposes [Kiftsgate Hd]. A separate Civil Parish in 1866 in Gloucestershire.
A chapel at Teddington & the hamlet of Conderton, each being a separate Civil Parish in 1866 in Worcestershire. Neither was separate ecclesiastically, hence this parish was ecclesiastically called 'Overbury with Alstone, Teddington & Little Washbourne'. [25]

Overbury, with the hamlet of Conderton, is situated on the borders of Worcestershire and Gloucestershire on the southern slopes of Bredon Hill.
Conderton is a small village and hamlet, near to and on the N.E. side of Overbury, 6 miles N.E. from Tewkesbury. [57]
