ODDINGLEY

Descriptive Notes:
Oddingley St James Netherwood, half a mile south-east [of Oddingley], is a farm: it was the scene of a tragedy in 1806: a person named Hemming, a carpenter, having been employed to assassinate the Rev. G.Parker, then rector, was afterwards himself murdered by his employers, who were fearful of the perpetrator of the horrible deed being found out and themselves implicated. [57]

ODDINGLEY, a parish in the lower division of the hundred of OSWALDSLOW, county of WORCESTER, 3 miles (S.) from Droitwich, containing 168 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Worcester, rated in the king's books at £4. 19. 4½ , and in the patronage of J. H. Galton, Esq.
