MITTON (UPPER), a hamlet in the parish of HARTLEBURY, lower division of the hundred of HALFSHIRE county of WORCESTER, ¾ of a mile (N. E.) from Stourport, containing 181 inhabitants. [Topographical Dictionary of England 1831 by Samuel Lewis]

Status:
A hamlet in Halfshire Hundred in Hartlebury Ancient Parish, which otherwise was Oswaldslow Hundred. It was a separate Civil Parish in 1866. Abolished in 1928 to help create Stourport Civil Parish.[25]
