INKBERROW, a parish in the middle division of the
hundred of OSWALDSLOW, county of WORCESTER, 5¼ miles (W.)
from Alcester, containing 1667 inhabitants.
The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Worcester,
rated
in the king's books at £16. 2. 1. The Earl of Abergavenny was
patron in 1792.
The church, dedicated to St. Peter, contains numerous monuments. At
Cokehill
are some remains of a nunnery founded in 1260 by Isabella, Countess of
Warwick, who assumed the
veil here: at the dissolution the establishment consisted of a prioress
and six
nuns, whose revenue was estimated at £34. 15. 11. [Topographical
