Huddington Court was the family home of the Wintour brothers, Thomas
and Robert, two of the Gunpowder Plot conspirators.Status:
Huddington was originally a chapel in Worcester St Helen Ancient Parish but early considered a chapel in Crowle. Huddington was a separate parish from Crowle probably in 1570. [25]

6 miles S.E. of Droitwich & 6½ miles N.E. of Worcester
Sale Green is a hamlet ½ mile N.W. consisting of one farm and a few cottages. [57]
Parish Church:
St. James
During the 18th and 19th centuries and possibly before, it was widely but incorrectly believed that the parish church was dedicated to St. Michael and All Angels. However, research established conclusively that the church is dedicated to St. James. [46]

HUDDINGTON, a parish in the middle division of the hundred of OSWALDSLOW, county of WORCESTER, 4¾ miles (S. S. E.) from Droitwich, containing 125 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Worcester, endowed with £600 royal bounty, and £200 parliamentary grant, and in the patronage of the Earl of Shrewsbury.
