Originally a chaplery in Worcestershire (Pershore Hundred) but in Tewkesbury Ancient Parish, which otherwise was in Gloucestershire (Tewkesbury Hundred). A separate civil identity in Worcestershire. (Tewkesbury entirely Gloucestershire thereafter). Ecclesiastically donative. A separate parish no later than 1817.[25]

Directories:
BUSHLEY, a parish in the lower division of the hundred of PERSHORE, county of WORCESTER, 2¼ miles (N. W.) from Tewkesbury, containing 366 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Worcester, endowed with £400 royal bounty, and £200 parliamentary grant, and in the patronage of T. Dowdeswell, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Peter. Here is a small charity school, supported by Miss Dowdeswell. The eastern boundary of this parish is formed by the river Severn, into which the Avon falls from the opposite side, below Tewkesbury, in Gloucestershire.
